A double-fronted Victorian villa in west London, with a hallway leading to a formal sitting room and play room to the front, and a generous kitchen-diner-family room and snug at the rear. The top floor has four bedrooms (three en-suite) and a dressing room for the master suite.

The owners of this west London property wanted to transform their home into a large live/play space for the whole family – which includes two sporty teenage children and their friends – to enjoy. The challenge was to reconfigure the large lateral space into well-proportioned adjoining rooms to maximise the functionally of the house.

Our design and build team designed a full-width rear extension and double-height elevation to house a first floor master suite to maximise the potential of the property.

On the ground floor, the new proportions allowed the rear of the property to accommodate a huge kitchen, dining area and informal living space, with two huge sets of floor-to-ceiling glass doors leading to the garden and a long contemporary skylight zoning the areas.

In the light and airy kitchen, rich oak timber flooring is offset by muted two-tone grey matt lacquer cabinetry and a two-tiered stainless-steel shark-nosed island and white quartz breakfast bar at a 90 degree angle, designed by kitchen specialists.
