A terraced townhouse with a master suite and kitchenette on the top floor, four bedrooms (two en-suite) and a study across the first and second floors and a kitchen-diner, sitting room and hallway on the ground level.

Owned by an English sports star and his glamorous wife this centrally located property was to become their London bolthole, somewhere they could call home during English sports tours. It needed to be cosy, modern and stylish and maximise all available space for family living.

Our design and build team were able to transform this once dark and pokey period property into a modern family home by integrating innovative ways to open up the space, increase the flow and flood this London terrace with light.

In the stairwell, a large architectural, wall-to-wall roof light at the top of the house draws in natural light, which flows down through the three floors, making the entire property feel bright and spacious.

Solid walls and doors in the hallway on the ground floor have been removed and replaced by double Crittall doors, skylights and glass room dividers to zone the different areas, allowing the natural light to filter easily through to the kitchen-diner and the formal sitting room and creating an easy flow between these sociable spaces.
