An elegant four storey Edwardian terrace. The ground floor features a kitchen, dining room, formal sitting room, playroom & hallway, which steps down to a full basement extending under the front and rear gardens on the ground and lower levels. The upper floors house a master suite with dressing room, guest room, two bathrooms and two children’s bedrooms.

An award-winning garden designer and her husband wanted this property to be their ‘forever’ home, with a generous open living space and a sleek, contemporary finish.

With a vast basement extension, comprising 250 sqm, single storey rear extension and two single side infill extensions – complete with motorised roof lights – and a second floor roof extension, our team dramatically increased the living space and sense of light. Add in a wonderfully rich, modern, masculine interior scheme and this period property was brought bang up-to-date.

Accessed via a stunning glass clad central staircase, and two external spiral staircases, the new basement was given an airy ceiling height and fitted with internal and external Crittal doors and glazing to maximise natural light. Full-height doors lead from the kitchen to the playroom, study, and gym, with further sets of full-height Crittal doors leading outside to courtyards at the front and rear, bringing light and drama to the space. Areas with less natural light have been used for a wine room, plant room and home hammam.

The sleek white kitchen features an enormous porcelain Statuario marble island with lacquered cabinets, designed in collaboration with kitchen specialists. This open plan space serves as an informal family dining zone with a beautiful leather banquette in racing car green built into a niche, with concealed children’s work stations either side.

The hallway on the ground floor was opened up, with walls replaced by beautifully graphic full height Crittal doors framing and leading into the dining room.
